Jakarta fine diners can hold their breath for two nights of bliss. Coming to town is the magical fine dining experience prepared by Chef Hikaru Take, from the French Fine Dining restaurant in Bali, Tapping Shoes. Chef Hikaru who originates from the town of Osaka in Japan, will create a contemporary feast for the eye and a delicate treat for the pallet. The exclusive dinner experience will be hosted by no other than the renowned Emilie Fine Dining restaurant.
In Osaka, Hikaru gained years of experience as the chef at for the Hotel Plaza’s, Le RendezVous, which was run under the management of Stephane Raimbault, the owner of 2 Michelin star restaurant, L’Oasis in Cannes, France. Hikaru continued his culinary journey, working at Raimbault’s restaurant in France and returning to Japan to help open L’eau a la bouche and the restaurant Varie, and now finally settling in Bali to be the Executive Chef of Tapping Shoes, Bali.“With my menus, I like to pay a special homage to great French chefs and the best kept traditional French recipes,” says Hikaru, “My team from Tapping Shoes and I, certainly are excited to work together with Emilie Restaurant, to give guests a wonderful and satisfying French dining experience, of quality ingredients and completed with wines from France.”
Hikaru’s special set menu dinner for the two nights will be paired with six wines offered from Clos Fourtet and Chateau Poujeaux, South West of France, Bordeaux, in the company of owner/winemaker Mr. Mathieu Cuvelier. Since taking the helm of both chateaux, the Cuvelier family has injected lots of new energy and ambition into both properties. Since then, the wines have been turning heads amongst wine lovers and critics. The 2009 Clos Fourtet received Robert Parker’s highest accolade as “one of the greatest young Bordeaux” a perfect 100 score.“Two estates, two great names, two histories, two banks, one philosophy”.
The Co Founder of the Potato Head group, Ronald says that celebrating the arts of French cuisine and the elaborate contemporary interpretations was the initial idea to Tapping Shoes restaurant, Bali. “Hikaru, is indeed a caliber culinary leader and we are proud to have him at Tapping Shoes, his passion and wonderful creativity is truly an asset that guests at Emilie can enjoy,” he says.
