A six-seat audiophile bar, made from reclaimed timber and recycled foam, is the focal point. Taken from mattress offcuts, the terrazzo-look foam is sustainable and strategic, enhancing the acoustics and allowing the sound system to operate at its best.
From 1970s Indonesian disco and psych to Japanese jazz and new-age, a library of obscure records offers a resource of sounds for daily selectors to play under the soft pink neon light which gently illuminates the space.
With little to separate DJ and guest, the small but welcoming setting recollects a friend’s living room more than a club, and is ideally suited to deep listening due to the clarity of the sound. A pop-up bar offers a ‘local only’ selection of wine and beer, supporting producers on the island.
Future programmes at the studio will include sustainability workshops, record launches, film and art projects – stay updated via Katamama and Potato Head Beach Club Facebook pages.
Open from 5pm until midnight, every day except Tuesday.
