Co-founder of the Hessle Audio label alongside Pearson Sound and Pangaea, Ben is perhaps most well-known for his Thursday night radio show on London’s Rinse FM.
Like Jackmaster, he’s one of a few British DJs to make a name for himself primarily as a DJ, with an ever-evolving style rooted in the early dubstep and grime scenes of Leeds and London. Over more than 15 years in the business, he’s released two official mix CDs for Rinse and Fabric, as well as recording mixes for widely-acclaimed series such as BBC Radio 1’s long-running Essential Mix.
He’s played alongside DJs as diverse in style as Jackmaster, Morphosis, Gerd Janson, Joy Orbison and DJ Nobu, a demanding tour schedule taking him from the UK to France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Australia, the US, Japan, and now Bali.
Unpredictable yet intuitive, his bass-heavy sets tend to cross the fringes of jungle, dubstep, house and techno, often blending forgotten classics with experimental sounds by up-and-coming producers.
