Island Talks #002 – Peggy Gou

Berlin-based Korean selector Peggy Gou returned to the Beach Club in December to play alongside Chicago house legend Larry Heard as part of our Potato Head x Freedom Time event.

A classically-trained pianist, Peggy’s transition into the world of electronic music came in London, where she was balancing fashion school with a new interest in DJing. Since then, she’s established a place for herself at the forefront of underground electronica, releasing four EPs in 2016, and throwing down sets at highly regarded music institutions the likes of Amsterdam’s Dekmantel festival, Manchester’s The Warehouse Project and DC10 in Ibiza.

Fresh from hitting the fifth spot in Mixmag’s ‘Top DJs of 2017,’ she talks to us about her love of Bali, making music in her suite at Katamama, her new artwork, and musical aspirations for 2018.
