Located steps away from our iconic Beach Club in Bali, the all-suite hotel hosted its first guests in April 2016 and is now recognised globally for its remarkable design.
58 stylish suites are complemented with a tropical pool and bar deck and two F&B outlets, MoVida, a contemporary Spanish restaurant and tapas bar, and Akademi, the hotel’s intimate lobby bar, home to creative mixology programmes and one-off events.
Inside, every detail has been handmade or thoughtfully selected. Suites display contemporary Indonesian art pieces, custom-made furnishings, naturally dyed table-runners and bed throws from Ubud, and even local coffee, roasted by 1/15 in Jakarta. Personal maxi-bars, complete with top of the range bar tools, house-infused spirits, Balinese araks and syrups produced downstairs at Akademi, are also a talking point.
Strikingly different, the building’s geometric structure was the work of Indonesian architect Andra Matin, a man beguiled by contrasts. Crafted from sacred temple bricks, Katamama is Matin’s modern interpretation of Indonesia, it’s bold angular exterior the perfect foil to Potato Head’s playful curves.
