Since its inception in 2014, Sunny Side Up has built a reputation as one of the leading international music and cultural festivals in the region, set apart by its idyllic tropical setting on the Island of the Gods.
Each year, music fans from across Asia and Australia travel to Bali in the thousands to experience this one-of-a-kind event at Potato Head Beach Club’s iconic, open air venue.
As Sunny Side Up prepares to go offsite next year for its biggest event yet, 2018 sees the tropical festival split into two for a pair of single-day SSU Presents shows on 21 July and 12 August. Day One kicks things off with Australia’s Nick Murphy (FKA Chet Faker) as the headliner, while Day Two features multi-platinum alternative-pop sensation Halsey.
Previous years have seen the likes of Mark Ronson, Disclosure, Ellie Goulding and Flight Facilities headline the SSU stage. This year’s confirmed artists for July include Brooklyn-based DJ and producer Moon Boots and Basenji, a DJ and electronic musician from Sydney, as well HMGNC and some of Potato Head’s famed resident DJs. The August event will also include a performance from the globally renowned, Indonesian artist NIKI, who was labeled by Noisey as “the internet’s favorite R&B princess.”
Pre-sale tickets are priced at IDR 700,000 for each event and are available, along with VIP packages, via Sunny Side Up. Follow SSU on Facebook and Instagram to stay in the know.
In addition to 2018’s line-up of local and international DJs, vocalists and bands, this year’s edition will feature a number of sustainably minded art installations and a pop-up merchandise store, where limited edition tees will be available alongside Potato Head’s signature aloha shirt collection.
To set the tone for this year’s festival, our resident musical master Pete Herbert has cooked up a sampler platter of what’s to come on both days of Sunny Side Up.
